VertiWalk | Manual Indoor Lift

There are a few different way to make multi-story homes accessible. Most common is the stair lift. With some more money you can install an elevator or platform lift also. I new entry is the VertiWalk, an electric free manual  lift.

Designed by Dutch designer Rombout Frieling, the VertiWalk is another option to move between floor. The mechanism is kind of a dynamic chair with ropes, pulleys, and brakes. Using body weight and leg movements, a person can basically sit and stand their way up and down.

Of course with this much movement needed to operate the VertiWalk, it wouldn’t be practical for everyone. But it would be great for those who would like to stay active and are able to operate the system. Below you can see a prototype of the VertiWalk in action.
