In the beginning, wheelchairs looked a lot like furniture because they were in fact chairs with wheels added onto them. As wheelchairs became more functional and sophisticated their looked moved away from their furniture beginnings. Now in a kind of full circle way, furniture cover maker Sure Fit has made available a wheelchair slipcover that makes modern wheelchairs look like furniture again.

Made of 100% cotton and Scotchguard, the covers go over a wheelchair just like any other slipcover. The back is quilted and padded to give that finished upholstered look. A double sided reversible pad is also included. One side is made of memory foam while the other side is made of support foam. On each side of the seat is also a little storage pocket.

Two versions of the slipscovers are available. One for a standard wheelchair and one for a desk wheelchair. Colors available are Coffee, Flax, Loden and Merlot. Covers are machine washable in the warm gentle cycle. For more information on Sure Fit’s wheelchair covers visit www.surefit.net.
