Medical alert systems have been around for quite awhile now and used by many people for safety and peace of mind. By now we’ve all seen the commercials (I’ve fallen and I can’t get up) and have a good idea how they work. While at home a person can summon help in an emergency with the press of a button. Key words being, “while at home”. Most medical alert systems can only work within the range of a house. Causing some users to feel trapped in their home. Zomm of Tulsa, Oklahoma has come up with a solution called Lifestyle Connect. A medical alert system that’s mobile and more.
Safety Beyond the Home
The heart of the Lifestyle Connect system is a small device that can be put onto a keychain. This device then can communicate with a Bluetooth cellphone and medical devices such as heart rate monitors, glucose monitors, and fall detection bracelets. When in emergency situations, Lifestyle Connect will contact families/friends and medical help. The calls can be initiated by the user or triggered automatically by a medical device. Such as the when the heart rate monitor detects abnormal heart beats.
Zomm also has an app available for Android and iPhone users. The myZOMM app can keep track of where the user is and has been. Personal medical information can stored and given to medical personnel when needed. When paired with Zomm’s Wireless Leash, the app can even keep track of wallets, purses, luggage, etc. The quarter sized device is placed in the object to be tracked and myZomm can find it when lost or left behind.
